About the Installation

Aqueous

Submerge yourself in the sights, sounds and sensations of Pantone Color of the Year 2020 Classic Blue. Inspired by the color blue’s calming qualities, Aqueous is a deep dive into our water-filled surroundings. Whether looking out at the vast horizon of the ocean or listening to the bubbling flow of a stream, water instills a sense of peace and relaxation. Through exploring the textures of liquid in all its states, this immersive installation seeks to soothe the spirit and inspire action to preserve this natural resource.

“During these unprecedented times as a society we have found ourselves in a new state of existence. Before 2020 even began, Pantone selected Classic Blue as the color of the year because they saw it as the hue to sustain us during a time of change,” said Sandro, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of ARTECHOUSE. “2020 ended up bringing changes no one expected, making the hue of Classic Blue, and the qualities it represents, more relatable now than ever before. We couldn’t think of a more timeless and timely theme to end the year and launch a new chapter of experiences.”

Aqueous is part of a series of installations across our locations that dive deeper into the unique qualities of the color. The installations build upon ARTECHOUSE’s initial exploration of Classic Blue, which launched with the immersive event developed for Pantone’s Color of the Year reveal in December 2019, and continued with a blockbuster Classic Blue installation at ARTECHOUSE NYC at the start of 2020. Submerge by ARTECHOUSE is an ongoing installation series that will continue to present new, immersive and thematic experiences in 2021 and beyond.
